Xbox Games Pass launch date revealed, coming in June

Microsoft announced the release date, price and list of games today for its Netflix-like subscription service; Xbox Game Pass. Everyone who owns an Xbox One will get access to a 14-day free trial and Xbox Live Gold members can start that trial today.

Xbox Game Pass won’t launch officially until June 1, 2017. When it does, it will be available in 31 Xbox markets and have 100 games on offer.

When, Where and How Much?

As mentioned above, Xbox Game Pass will launch on June 1, 2017 and will be available in the following regions;

Markets supported include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK, and United States.

Priced at $9.99USD, the Xbox Game Pass will cost $10.95 AUD, £7.99 and €9.99. For other regions pricing, check the Xbox Marketplace.

At launch, 100 games will be on offer with highlights including Saint’s Row IV Re-Elected, Mad Max, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, DmC: Devil May Cry – Definitive Edition and Halo 5: Guardians. Subscribers who download games through the service will be offered the chance to buy them at a discounted price. If you find a game you love and want to keep it, it’s a pretty good deal to try before you buy, at a discount to boot.

All Xbox Live Gold members can now gain access to their 14-day trial via the Xbox Marketplace. Everyone else can take the Xbox Game Pass for a spin from June 1, 2017.
