Batttlefield 1’s single player campaign will be an anthology

In a blog post, DICE has detailed how Battlefield 1 will eschew the classic story of a single-soldier or player-character and instead will portray a range of different characters.

DICE explains that this approach is designed to demonstrate the diversity of people and their experiences during World War I. “The Great War is diverse. “We knew we wanted to embrace that variety. There were so many different perspectives and characters in World War I and we wanted to cover as much ground as possible,” the post reads.

Battlefield 1 will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 21, 2016.
